ASMP Strictly Business 2

This past weekend I learned about my self and my business. I attended the American Society of Media Photographer's Strictly Business 2 program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ASMP leadership did a marvelous job of packing every minute full of nuts and bolts that you could use to build your business or network and brainstorm with other photographers.

I was reminded of the very simple things that can be done to foster and maintain relationships and clients for the long term, like sending notes of appreciation after a job or being a creative problem solver.

John Harrington reiterated best business practices for photographers and stressed that solid business paperwork will increase your profits. It all makes sense. Good attention to detail and a habitual regular system of organization pays dividends over the long term.

The networking opportunities abounded. Face time with other photographers was worth the entrance fee. During breaks, lunches and receptions opportunities for conversation were plenty and valuable.

Just a few of the people that I had the opportunity to network with:
Kevin Brusie
Wayne Smith
Hannele Lahti
John Welsh
Jake Wyman
Clem Spalding
Sean Henry
Richard Kelly
Todd Joyce
